Meet the people who are building Arena
You know the product. You know the mission. But who is actually building it?
Welcome to «The Squad» — a new series where we pull back the curtain to show you the people, the processes, and the grind behind Arena 🚀
We sat down with our Lead Designer to talk about the hardest part of creating a sports platform:
Q: What is the hardest part about designing a sports platform?
A: «Balance. Football fans want to see real numbers — quality data. But if you dump all of that on one screen, it becomes a mess. The hardest part is making something very complex look incredibly simple.»Q: How many iterations does a feature usually go through?
A: «Too many (Laughs). For the main dashboard alone, we threw away at least five complete concepts. If it doesn’t feel fast, we scrap it.»Q: What’s the main rule for Arena’s design?
A: «Fans first, tech second. When you’re tracking your club’s stats or completing quests to earn Arena Points, the design should feel invisible. You focus on the experience, not the buttons.»Q: What’s next on your desk?
A: «Right now we’re working on bringing American football onto the platform. Different sport, different fan behavior. It’s like designing a new product within the product.»Q: (From the community): Are we still on track for the launch on May 26?
A: «From the design side, a lot is already done. Right now, we’re testing everything and bringing it to the proper standard. The first major update is planned for late May to early June.»
What feature do you care about most in a sports platfrom? UI, speed, or deep stats? ⬇️
